Rosalie Weber, 79, of Prophetstown, died at home on Monday, August 12, 2013.
Rosalie was born in Rock Falls to Kenneth & Etta (Lutyens) Hasenyager on November 11, 1933. She graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1951 and went on to cosmetology training. She married Rollin Weber on August 15, 1952; they would have been married 61 years on Thursday.
Rosalie lived in Erie for many years and was formerly employed by Farral's Hardware. She was a long-time member and past president of the Erie Women's Club. Rosalie was a member of the Prophetstown Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a volunteer at the Elementary School reading to the children. Rosalie was most comfortable in her kitchen where she loved to bake and made wonderful meals for her family.
In addition to her husband, Rosalie is survived by two daughters Lynn (Jim) Loerop of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Taffie (Todd) Williams of Parker, Colorado, and by three sons Randy (Pam) Weber of Winter Haven, Florida, Rodney (Candice) Weber of Batesville, Arkansas, and Scott (Kindyl) Weber of Erie. Rosalie is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Kelly Johnston, Tracy Winckler, Katie Meitzen, Jennifer Marbury, Derek Weber, Dan Weber, Courtney Pool, Matt, Mike, Mya and Meilin Loerop, and Brianna and Erik Williams, and by sixteen great-grandchildren. One brother, Keith (Margaret) Hasenyager of Sterling, and sister-in-law Anita (Jerry) Oberle of Morton also survive.
She was preceded in death by siblings Lois, Evalene, and Kenneth, Jr.
Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Prophetstown. The funeral service will be held at the church at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 16, 2013, with Pastor Cheri Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
