Blanche L. Collinson, age 104, died Friday September 7, 2012 at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home.

Blanche was born on June 11, 1908 in Knox County the daughter of Thomas B. and Louisa J. (Goodhart) Stout. She married Lloyd E. Collinson on April 6, 1927 in Oneida. He died July 17, 1965. Blanche was employed as a clothing aid at the Dixon State School retiring in 1972. She was a member of First Christian Church in Sterling and enjoyed bowling, crocheting and sewing. Blanche was a past president of the Mothers of World War II.

Survivors include her daughters, Verna Mills of Iowa and Mavis (Steve) Flosi of Rock Falls; her sons, Lloyd Ray Collinson of New Mexico and Robert Collinson of Rock Falls; her grandchildren, Gary Collinson, Barry Collinson, Janan Mills, Leila Hogan, Greg Mills, Doug Mills, Rebecca Maynes, Theresa Chavez, Robert Buckley, Edward Buckley, John Downing, Dawn Wires, Daneen Sandrock, Derick Bonneville, Brenda Collinson, Pamela Collinson and Christina Collinson; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Carol Willis and a granddaughter Cathy.

The funeral will be at 10 AM Wednesday, September 12 in McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls with Chaplain Teri Dumyahn of Vitas Hospice, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, September 11 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in her memory.
