ROCK FALLS – Zane R. "Dick" Anderson, age 85, died at home, Monday, March 13, 2017.
Zane was born on November 9, 1931 in Rock Falls the son of Alonzo and Belva (Johnson) Anderson. He married Joyce Knight on February 6, 1954 in Rock Falls. Zane was employed as a Lineman and Tree Trimmer with the City of Rock Falls for 35 years retiring in 1987 and as a playground equipment painter with Coloma Park District. He was an artist who enjoyed painting. Zane served his country in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Joyce Anderson of Rock Falls; one daughter, Judith (Robert) Edison of Sterling; two sons, Richard (Amy) Anderson of Medicine Lodge, Kan. and Lonny Anderson of Rock Falls; one sister, Wilda (Don) Corzett of Rock Falls; two brothers, Charles (Shirley) Anderson of Dixon and Jerry Anderson of Milledgeville; seven grandchildren, Laura Wheeler, Carrie Lane, Martin Anderson, Isaiah Anderson, Kristina Edison, Jeremy Edison and Nathaniel Edison, four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Leona Weeks; one brother Ronald Anderson.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 -2:00 PM, Friday, April 7, 2017 at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend David Beebe officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the American Lung Association.
