MILLEDGEVILLE – Winburn "Sonny" Leach, Jr. age 73, died at his home Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
Winburn was born on July 22, 1947 in Marvell, Ark. the son of Winburn and Florence (Seidel) Leach, Sr. He served his country in the United States Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. Winburn was employed at Northwestern Steel & Wire in Sterling. When he was younger he loved to roller skate, he was one of the best roller skaters you ever saw. Winburn Leach will be greatly missed.
Survivors include one daughter Michelle of Wash.; one step-daughter, Melissa Aldridge of Milledgeville; one step-son, Jon Doty of Chadwick; two sisters, Wendy Kitsmiller of Morrison and Barbara Hahn of Sterling; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; significant other, Cherryl Doty; one son, Brandon Leach; one brother, Stanley Leach; one sister, Linda Stroup.
Gathering of family and friends with 50 people maximum will be from 10-11:00 AM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend Rick Koch officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Milledgeville.
