Love Emblem

Wilma I. Stewart, 83, of Galena, formerly of Milledgeville, left this world on Monday, May 7, 2018 to join her Savior in Heaven.

Wilma was born on May 17, 1934 in rural Chadwick to Edward and Helen (Davis) Loechel. She was raised by her grandparents, Charles and Lena Davis. On May 17, 1953 she was united in marriage to Roland Stewart in Coleta.

Wilma attended Walker School and Milledgeville High School. She worked as a book keeper for the family business, Stewart's Boom Service. In her younger years she volunteered at Milledgeville United Methodist Church where she was a long time member. She was a past Girl Scout Leader, volunteered with American Cancer Society, delivered Golden Meals, and served as a committee member of the Milledgeville Credit Union.

Wilma enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and baking, but what she loved best was being a wife and a mother of three Brad (Cindy) Stewart, of Oregon, Lisa (Mike) Cheeseman, of Milledgeville and Candace Stewart, of Galena. She was very proud of her six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Joyce Howard, of Dixon and Nona Parks, of Milledgeville along with several nieces and nephews by whom she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Stewart on March 1, 2015; her parents; and a sister, Jackie Nye.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Milledgeville United Methodist Church. The funeral will be at 10 AM Friday, May 11 in the church with the Reverend Sophia Hyon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. A memorial has been established in her memory. Funeral arrangements are through the McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville. To send condolences visit www.mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com
