William T. Williams, age 85 of Sterling, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home.

William was born on June 14, 1932 in Rolla, Missouri, the son of Vernon and Irene (Murphy) Williams. He married Lois J. Tarbill on October 22, 1951 in Sterling. William was a truck driver for over 40 years and retired from Roadway Trucking. He was a lifelong member of the Rock Falls Eagle's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; six children, Barbara (Don) Rascoe of Sterling, Thomas (Sharyl) Williams of Sterling, Vern Williams of Sterling, Sandi (Dennis) Hay of Sterling, John Williams of Sterling and Joan (Roger Beck) Williams of Rock Falls; five siblings, Donald Williams of Yankton, SD, Michael (Elaine) Williams of Sterling, Charlotte Smith of Rockford, Sally (Sherman) Hopkins of Sterling and Robyn Williams of Sterling; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and special cousin, Eldon Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, David, John, James and Kenneth Williams; four sisters, June Williamson, Ethel Heerdt, Joyce Quackenbush and Janet Feldmann and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, 505 1st Avenue. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
