William Grant Groleau was born on February 15th, 1941, in Gladstone, MI, the son of Agnes (Jacovich) and William Groleau. He was raised in Rockford, IL where he attended school at St. Edwards, St. Thomas High School and Rock Valley Community College. William also served in the Army from 1958-1961.

William married Mary Thole at St. Michael's in Galena, IL on June 15th, 1963. They had four children; three sons and one daughter. William was President of the Home and School Board at St. Andrews, was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of American Legion and Rock Falls City Planning and Zoning Commission and retired from National Manufacturing in 2000. He enjoyed working in his shop in his spare time, especially wood working.
William passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2021 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

William is survived by his wife Mary; his son Ed (Karen) of Indianapolis; Rich (Kelli) of Prophetstown, IL; Rob (Angie) of Stoughton, WI and Kristi (Chris) McBride of Fishers, IN; nine grandchildren: Catherine (Sean) Jensen of New Orleans, LA; Amanda of Rock Falls, IL; Laura (Sean) Jewart of Bloomington, IN; Alexandra, E-6, stationed in of San Diego, CA; Nicole of Ames, IA, Jacob and Abigail of Stoughton, WI and Meghan and Keaghan of Fishers, IN; and two great-children Caleb and Nora Jensen; brother Harry of East Troy, WI and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Mark and nephew Marc.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 29, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls with the Rosary being recited at 4 PM. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with the Reverend Richard M. Russo officiating.
Memorials may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Gianna's House Pregnancy Center in Rock Falls.
