Virginia M. Goodenough, age 94, of Morrison died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Pleasant View Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Morrison. She was only 11 days from her 95th birthday.
Virginia was born February 2, 1918 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Bert and Ida (Preston) Goodenough. She graduated from Prairie Center grade school, and was active in her youth at The Morrison United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. Virginia was a leader of the Green Dell Prairie Ramblers 4-H Club and was an active member of the Rural Youth Organization. She was also a member of the Morrison Presbyterian Church. During World War II, Virginia worked at the Green River Ordnance Plant, and then was employed at Wesclox in LaSalle for 35 years.
Survivors include one niece; Carolyn McCue of Sterling, one nephew; Orville Goodenough, Jr. of Morrison, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, two brothers; Willard and Orville, Sr., one stepbrother; Eugene Langdon, and one niece; Mary Sengel.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a family gathering will be held at a later date.
