Virgil F. Milnes, died Friday November 27, 2020 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born on June 29, 1929 in Morrison the son of Sidney and Edna (Swanson) Milnes. He married Janet (Housenga) Fotzler on November. 9th, 1975.
Virgil had been the owner/ operator of La Belle Lanes bowling alley in Prophetstown for many years and had also done custom corn shelling. Virgil really enjoyed spending time with people. He was an avid bowler and also raised rabbits in his backyard for many years. He was known for canning almost any kind of food for his family members.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; children: Gary (Beth) Milnes of Morrison, Terry Durham of Sterling, Rory (Paula) Fotzler of Lancaster, WI, Brian Fotzler (Jason Henning) of Milan and Julie (Mitch) Morse of Prophetstown; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: LaVelle Peterson and Beulah Recker; his brother Vernon Milnes; ; and his son in law Ray Durham.

Cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or public services.
