STERLING – Victor Castaneda, 61 formerly of Littleton,Colorado, died Monday January 27, 2014 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
He was born on March 30, 1952 in El Paso, TX the son of Venustiano "John" and Tomasa (Duran) Castaneda. Victor attended St. Mary Grade School and was a 1970 graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling. He married the former Julie Adams of Tampico. Victor was a self employed roofer in the Denver and Littleton Colorado area before his illness. He played the bass guitar and was a past member of "JB Spurs" band and the "Steel City Band". He enjoyed camping with his daughters and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his three daughters: Jonna (Daniel) Rasbach of Highland Ranch, CO, Jackie Ross of Highland Ranch, CO and Jessie Giles of Littleton, CO; his former wife, Julie Adams-Watkins of Walnut; his parents John and Tomasa both of Sterling; his sisters: Stella (Mike) Fortney of Sterling and Mary Bennett of Sterling; his brothers: John (Cynthia) Castaneda of South Elgin and Tom (Jami) Castaneda of Sterling; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jade Castaneda
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2014 from 4-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM.
A memorial has been established.
