Vicki Jo Hunter, 74 died Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Lawnwood Regional Medical center and Trauma Center in Fort Pierce, FL after a sudden illness.

She was born on July 13, 1942 in Morrison, IL the daughter of Russell and Arlene (Thomson) Onken. She married Bruce Hunter on November 26, 1960 in Morrison, IL. She worked alongside Bruce, in their family business, Hunter Body Shop, Towing and Auto Parts in Morrison until her retirement.

In addition to spending time with her family, Vicki enjoyed traveling, attending sewing conferences and quilt shows with her daughters and caring for her two dogs, Mandy and Maggie.

Survivors include her husband Bruce; three children, Susan (Fred) Hamstra, Bruce (Kim) Hunter, Jr. and Tina Hunter, all of Morrison. Seven grandchildren, Derek (Brianne) Hamstra, Hunter James Hamstra, Jamie (Jason) Huggins, Katie (Ryan) Jakobs, all of Morrison, Zach (Taylor) Ashpole of Fulton, Seth (Alycia Edwards) Ashpole of Delmar, IA and Morgan (Randy Glasgow) Ashpole of Moline; three great grandchildren; one brother, Darrell (Pat) Onken and one sister, Terri (Roger) Doering.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jimmy Alan Hunter.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private service will be held for the family.

A memorial has been established to the Morrison Odell Library.
