STERLING - Todd Andrew Froeter died of cancer on February 16, 2022 at Rock River Hospice and Home at the far too young age of 57.
Todd loved and was loved by so many, friends and family alike. He was born and raised in Sterling, and attended Newman Catholic High School. From a young age he became a beloved character, popular amongst friends, family, and especially women. He was always quick to a boisterous and hearty laugh, and found little difficulty in making those around him join in. He was a talented but modest musician and lover of music. He always loved gardening and found peace in working with the soil. He was a compassionate lifelong liberal, who always believed in the underdog. He never met a stranger, just friends he hadn't met yet. Todd always spoke the truth, and could be counted on for that.
Todd had 3 brothers, 1 half-brother and 4 sisters-in-law. He had 7 nieces and 4 nephews, who will forever remember him as the generous, fun-loving "Uncle Toddy," who they remember often saying "don't tell your parents we just did this."
He also had 8 great nieces and nephews, some who barely got to know him and hear about his shenanigans.
He was also blessed to have been welcomed as one of their own into the loving Padilla family, for which the Froeter family will forever be grateful.
No funeral will be held at this time. There will be a memorial celebration on June 4, 2022 at 2pm until ? at Champs Sport Bar & Grill, 9 E 3rd Street in Sterling, to celebrate Todd.
