Thomas J. Razo, 75 of Sterling died Friday August 28, 2015 at his home following an illness.

He was born on March 7, 1940 in Muscatine, IA the son of Peter M. and Tillie M. (Conchola) Razo and was a 1959 graduate of Sterling High School. He married Mary Shankel. Tom was employed at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Co in Sterling for 35 years retiring as a crane operator. He had been a past Little League coach, a past Scout Den leader, a past member of the JC's and past member of the Latin American Social Club.

Surviving are his four sons: Thomas R. (Marie) Razo of London, England, Rodney T. (Kimberly) Razo of Minot, ND, Mark S. Razo of Sterling and Timothy S. (Roxanne) Razo of Mechanicsville, VA; four sisters: Mary Clark of Sandwich, IL Dorothy Razo of Sterling, Gloria Olds of Rock Falls and Lynda Larson of Bedford, TX; four brothers: John (Pam) Razo of Tucson, AZ, Peter (Kay) Razo of Sterling, Lee (Carol) Razo of Sterling and Richard (Joann) Razo of Blue Grass, IA; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and special friend Shirley Beck.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Joyce Klapprodt.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 3, 2015 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling with the Rosary recited at 9:00 A.M. Celebration of the Mass of Christian will follow at 11 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with the Reverend James Keenan officiating. Burial will be at Friday at Noon at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Rock River Valley and the Home of Hope.
