Thomas E. Reuter, 80, of Sterling, IL, peacefully passed away at Rock River Hospice & Home on May 14th surrounded by his family after a long illness.

Thomas was born on August 15th, 1941 to Paul and Esther (Forman) Reuter in Amboy, IL. He was the third of four children. He was a 1959 graduate of Amboy High School. He married Ann E. Lawson on November 9th, 1963 at St. Mary's Church in Sterling, IL. In their 58 years together they traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states as well as other countries.

Over his lifetime, Thomas was employed at manufacturing companies including RB&W in Rock Falls, IL and Process Gear in Sterling, IL. On May 4th, 2007, he retired from Rock River Tool & Die after 19 years of faithful service. Tom had a love for golfing, automobiles, and antiques. He enjoyed socializing and entertaining others with his stories and his humor. He was also devoted to his family farm in Amboy, IL, where he farmed throughout his life.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Esther, and his brothers George and Bill. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his two children Mike (Monique) of Bloomington, IL and David (Kelly) of Milledgeville, IL; and his four grandchildren, Christy of California, Tommy of Germany, Madeline of California, and Dayton of Milledgeville, IL; and a sister, Florence Hichborn of Bettendorf, Iowa. He is also survived my many brother and sister-in laws and many nieces and nephews.

No immediate services have been established, however a Celebration of Life to honor Thomas will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling, IL.
