Thelma A. Kilday, 96, of Sterling, died on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Avonlea Cottages in Sterling.

She was born on August 26, 1921 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to James L. and Margaret (Landers) Ague. She married J. Richard Kilday on November 15, 1947 in Dixon. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2006. She was a registered nurse at CGH and KSB hospitals for 32 years. Thelma was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.

Surviving is her son, Tim (Barbara) Kilday of St. Charles; sisters Betty Andreas, Virginia Schoenhaar and Marian Quick all of Sterling; 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Linda, her son Michael, a brother and 3 sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling on Thursday, December 28th at 10:30 AM with Reverend James Keenan, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling. Visitation will be on Wednesday December 27th from 5-7 PM at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A memorial has been established in her memory.
