Shelly A. Reese
Shelly A. Reese, age 64, of Dixon, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 in her home surrounded by loving family.
Shelly was born October 10, 1952 in Fairbury the daughter of Wilbur and Ellen "Corky" (Miracle) Norris. She was the Director of Nursing and later Administrator at Tammerlane in Sterling for a total of 28 years. She was also a Registered Nurse Certified – Psychiatric. She was an expert witness for nursing healthcare. Shelly enjoyed jury duty and shopping for makeup, purses and clothes.
Survivors include her wife, Barbara Richter of Dixon; four children, Shannon Hermie of Woodstock, Jeana (Brian) Feagan of Crystal Lake, Desaree (Shawn) Todd of Rock Falls and Kathleen Reese of Dixon; two sisters, Carol (Gene) McNally of Portsmouth, Va. and Darla Mitchell of Chesapeke, Va.; three grandchildren, Brooke (age 9), Nylah (age 8) and Preston (age 5); and her very special friend, Carol Nuttall of Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two of her best friends, Kary Sheridan and Carol Wolf.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Memorial services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Niel Shoffner of the Savanna Community Church of Christ officiating.
A memorial has been established.
