Scott Hayen, age 38, died Friday, August 17, 2018.

Scott was born on November 9, 1979 in Sterling the son of Jeffrey and Denise (Leffelman) Hayen. He was employed as an Order Filler with the WalMart Distribution Center in Sterling. Scott served his country in the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his mother, Denise (Kenny) Sexton of Sterling; his father, Jeffrey Hayen of Rock Falls; three sisters, Christine (Tito) Cantu of Rock Falls, Nichole Karstens of Mishawaka, Ind. and Katie Hayen of Dixon; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Leffelman of Mendota; nieces, Payton Geeting, Jasa Geeting, Breanna Geeting and Ariana Wade; nephew, Alex Cantu and great nephew, Owen Geeting.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandfather.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Roger Carlson officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
