Sally A. Pope, age 83, of Sterling, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Regency Care of Sterling.

Sally was born in Joliet the daughter of Dee and Mary (Whiteman) Maxwell. She married Walter Pope on September 15, 1956 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2001. She was employed as a nurse's aide at the Plainfield Nursing Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Jayne (Dean) Hurd; three sons, Walter, Jr. (Connie) Pope, Ray (Meredith) Pope and Ryan Pope; one sister, Donna Currie; one brother, Warren Carskaden; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several half siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Bernice Maxwell; three brothers, Harry Maxwell, Carl Carskaden and Frank Carskaden; step father, Harry Carskaden; and daughter-in-law, Angie Pope.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 9 – 10:00 AM at Living Bread Fellowship Church in Sterling followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM with Pastor Don Beasley of Turning Point Church in Dixon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Living Bread Fellowship Church.
