Roger Earl Miner, 80 of rural Mount Carroll, died Sunday June 2, 2019 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL.

He was born on August 29, 1938 in Kankakee, IL the son of Ashton Armond and Marguerite Irene (Harris) Miner. Roger was a graduate of Kankakee High School and Valparaiso Technical Institute. He served in the US Navy on the USS Randolph. He married Donna J. Christensen on April 23, 1960 in Kankakee. He had been employed for over 27 years as a long distance communication engineer with AT&T before retiring. He then worked at a local clock shop for about 5 years before moving to the Mount Carroll, IL area. Roger was an amateur radio operator – K9AUA. He enjoyed working on clocks and electronics – especially antennas, and occasionally playing the accordion. He loved gospel music and followed the Gaither's Classic Gospel program. He attended Pleasant Valley Church of God in rural Stockton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; their sons: Arthur L. Miner of Mount Carroll, IL and David B. (Judy) Miner of Pearl City, IL; his brother Richard (Lois) Miner of Bradley, IL; and two nieces Anita and Dawn; 2 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no public service and cremation has taken place. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Falls, IL.
