Robert L. Ebersole, age 81 of Sterling died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at CGH Medical Center.

Robert was born August 18, 1933 in Sterling the son of Roy and Ruth (Nice) Ebersole. He married Wilmetta "Billie" Burke on May 7, 1953 in Sterling. Robert served in the US Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling and enjoyed volunteering at the church. Robert worked as a driver and mechanic at Propheters Construction in Sterling for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife Billie of Sterling, one daughter Dawn (Jack) Cormack of Granger, IN, one son Monte (Debbie) Ebersole of Lafayette, LA , one daughter-in-law Judy Ebersole of Poplar Grove, IL, three sisters Miriam Shank of Sterling, Belva Robinson of Cave Junction, OR, and Betty Sutter of Cottonwood, AZ, three brothers Charles Ebersole of Sterling, Gene (Meriladine) Ebersole of Panama City, FL, and Willard (Ellen) Ebersole of Wichita, KS, one half-brother Roy (Jan) Ebersole, Jr. of Augusta, GA, two half-sisters Sue Ellen (Aro) Chazin of South Bend, IN, and Verna (David) Kauffman of Goodfield, IL, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Mark, in infancy, and Michael R. Ebersole, four sisters Catherine Johnson, Pauline Dickhut, Anita Oberg and Gert Campbell, and two brothers Russ Ebersole and Everett Ebersole.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30-10:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. A Celebration of Christian Burial Memorial Mass will be 10: 00 A.M. Saturday with Reverend James Keenan officiating. Inurnment will follow mass at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Mary's Grade School.
