Robert J. "Bob" Wiersema, age 52 of Albany died Wednesday, April 02, 2014 at this home.

Bob was born November 10, 1961 in Clinton, IA the son of John and Beatrice (VanHouten) Wiersema. He married Gail Doescher on May 30, 1981 in Fulton. Bob worked at Exelon Nuclear for 32 years. He was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Fulton and also served as a Deacon in the church. Bob enjoyed fishing, computers and electronics. He also enjoyed fixing computers and helping anyone he could. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren most of all.
Survivors include his mother Beatrice Wiersema of Fulton, wife Gail Wiersema of Albany, two sons Ryan (Arlene) Wiersema of Fulton, and Kyle (Erica) Wiersema of Albany, two sisters Marcia (Bill) Thorpe of Florida, and Gaye (Tommy) Littlejohn of Fulton, one brother David (Susan) Wiersema of Fulton, and five grandchildren Sammy, Ross, Melody, Brennan, and Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father John, and one sister in infancy Julie.

Visitation will be from 3-7PM Sunday, April 6, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton, 1604 16th Avenue. Funeral service will be 11AM Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Second Reformed Church in Fulton with Reverend Scott Stephan officiating. Cremation rites will follow.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the ALS Association or Second Reformed Church.
