Richard L. Snyder
Richard L. Snyder, age 68, of Sterling, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his home.
Richard was born August 11, 1948 in Rock Falls the son of Charles and Leanora (Tompkins) Snyder. He married Janice Reiger on March 14, 1970 in Rock Falls. Richard was employed by Trek Transportation in Jackson, Mi. as a truck driver retiring in 1997. He also farmed for many years. Richard loved collecting all sorts of items especially antiques, paperweights and beer steins. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Janice of Sterling; three children, Christine (Matt Ahlberg) Snyder of Belvidere, Richard Snyder of Sterling and Katie Snyder of Sterling; three sisters, Pat McLindsay of Sterling, Bonnie Clapp of Tucson, Ariz. and Debra Snyder of Rock Falls; four brothers, Ron (Sandy) Tompkins of Sterling, Gary (Tina) Snyder of Dixon, Butch Snyder of Rock Falls and John Snyder of Dixon; four grandchildren, Jessica Null, Samantha Snyder, Jordan Snyder and Zachary Snyder; and five great grandchildren, Gavin, Ellianna, Kinzleigh, Makaleigh and Keenan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Lee Snyder; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 10 – 11:00 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Les Funderberg of the First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
