Rueben E. Radunz, 88 died Saturday September 26, 2015 at Avonlea Cottage of Dixon.
He was born on July 11, 1927 in Granite Falls, MN the son of William A.and Edna M. (Schroeder) Radunz and had served as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Jeanne Phelps on August 16, 1952 in Lincoln, IL. She died March 5, 1997. Rueben had been employed as an operating engineer for the former Bob Propheter Construction Co in Sterling retiring after 25 years of service in 1987. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Sterling.
Survivors include four daughters: Virginia (David) Hill of Clinton, IA, Karen (Larry) Reynolds of North Port, FL, Barbara (Dave) Halvorson of Chana, IL and ViAnne (Tim) Munson of Sterling; one son, Richard (Karen) Radunz of Marysville, WA; one sister, Evelyn Ehrreich of Moundsview, MN; Two brothers: David (Lorae) Radunz of Armstrong, IA and William (Ann) Radunz of Princeton, MN; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2015 from 5:30 – 7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The funeral will follow on Thursday at 10 AM in St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Sterling with the Reverend Mark Oehlert officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Riverside Cemetery.
