Raul E. Leal, age 74, died at home Friday, June 9, 2017 following an extended illness.

Raul was born on December 31, 1942 in Pharr, Texas the son of Pablo T. and Petra (Escimilla) Leal. He married Vicki M. Sargent in 1969 they had 3 children together. Raul married Donna M. Boken on December 31, 1991. He was employed as a Furnace Foreman at Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling for 33 years retiring in 1993. Raul served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Leal of Rock Falls; two daughters, Teasha (Ryan Peterson) Leal of Sterling and Petra Sanchez of Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Dora Hamilton of Milledgeville and Nathie Canas of Rock Falls; five brothers, Rudy (Elvita) Leal, Martin (Fran) Leal, Raymond Leal, Ron (Bonita) Leal all of Sterling and Pat Loza of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one brother; three sisters.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There are no services.
