STERLING – Ralph F. Miller, 85 died Sunday February 26, 2017 at Regency Care of Sterling.

He was born on March 8, 1931 in Fairmont, NE the son of Ernest and Helen (Baumgartner) Miller. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Marines as an Air Wing SGT from Dec 1951 – Dec 1953. Ralph married Helen Anderson on July 20, 1952 on her family farm near Coleta. She died August 28, 1997. Ralph was employed for over 30 years at the former Frantz Manufacturing retiring in 2005. He was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Sterling; and volunteered at Helping Hands Food Pantry. Ralph was an avid John Deere collector.

Survivors include his son, Randy (Lucille) Miller Sr of Rock Falls; daughters: Brenda Miller and Lori (Jeff) Seaberg both of Sterling; his brothers: Robert Miller of Sterling, Ronald (Jan) Miller of Fort Smith, AR and Frank (Edna) Miller of Rock Falls; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son Marvin Lee Miller; three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 1, 2017 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 11:30 AM with Reverend Irene Lewis-Wimbley officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
