Philip Edwin Bruketta, 75, died at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL surrounded by his family on August 3, 2021.

Philip was born July 15, 1946 in Canton, IL the son of George and Charlotte Irene (Wilcoxen) Bruketta. He married Barbara Murphy on April 17, 1971, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Philip is a retired plumber of many years. Philip was a member of St. Andrew Church and Rock Falls American Legion Post 902 and a longtime member of their Honor Guard. He was a proud US Army Vietnam veteran. Philip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Survivors include, his wife, Barbara of Rock Falls; three sons Andy Bruketta of Palmer Alaska, Jim Bruketta of Sterling and Tim (Brooke Dugger) Bruketta of Rock Falls; four grandchildren Drew, Kylor, Kinzie and Hunter Bruketta; one sister Janet (Bill) O'Neil of Jackson Hole, WY; three brothers George (Dixie) Bruketta of Norris, IL, David (Phyllis) Bruketta of Canton, IL and Danny (Becky) Bruketta of Norris, IL; two sister-in-laws Ann (Dean) Ufkin of Morrison and Jean (Mark) Thomaschefsky of Sterling; one brother-in-law Frank (Linda) Murphy of Sterling and many special nieces and nephews.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents, one brother James Bruketta, mother and father-in-law Betty and John Murphy, special cousin Robert Delost and 2 nieces Jennifer Thomaschefsky and Karin Murphy.

Visitation will be held Monday August 9, 2021 from 9 – 11 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Richard M. Russo and the Reverend Richard R. Kramer officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sterling. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Homes.
