Peter John Delgado Sr., age 84 of Sterling, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA.

Pete was born on September 1, 1934 in Nelson, IL, the son of Eligio and Carolina (Garcia) Delgado. He married Helen F. Regalado on September 17, 1955 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Pete worked at Raynor Garage as a warehouse foreman for 41 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include, his wife, Helen; one daughter, Rose Strader of Sterling; three sons, Peter (Deborah) Delgado Jr. of Rock Falls, Raymond Delgado of Sterling and Paul (Mary) Delgado of Sterling; three sisters, Margaret (Mike) Regalado, Pena Velasquez and Mary Jo (Lee) Evans; one brother, John Delgado; seven grandchildren, James, Angelica, Vanessa, Zachary, Matthew, Shanna and Travis; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe Delgado; and two sisters, Tillie Lopez and Mercedes Regalado.

Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Ave. Rosary will be recited at 4:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with the Reverend Jorge Bravo Celebrant officiating.
