Patrick L. "P.A." Alumbaugh, 60, of Rock Falls, died on Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at The Maple Crossings of Amboy.

He was born on January 26, 1958 in Moline to John and Edna (Schatz) Alumbaugh.

He was an auto body technician for many years working at many local body shops. He had a passion for working on cars spanning a lifetime. He was a NASCAR fan and also enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Pat was notorious for telling a good joke and making people laugh. He loved his nieces and nephews and especially enjoyed being a grandfather to Lori's grandchildren whom he cherished deeply. Most of all, Pat will be remembered for his kind and gentle heart and his love of helping others when they needed it the most.

Those left to honor his memory include his partner, Lori Dowd, of Rock Falls; his siblings, John (Mary) Alumbaugh of Mahomet, Julia (Dean) Timm of Midlothian, Texas, Nancy (Richard) Rajnowski of Sterling, Michael (Kristy) Alumbaugh of West Salem, Wisconsin, Melinda (Fred) Peterson of Amboy, Jimmy (Laurie) Alumbaugh of Sterling and Jennifer (Chad) Simpson of Dixon; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Ricky Lee Rajnowski.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday, January 29th from 5-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. A memorial service will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Sheley, officiating. A memorial has been established in his memory.
