Olga Lydia Cotto, 60, of Rock Falls, died on Friday, July 2, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford. Olga was born on November 25, 1960 in Guayama, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Esmeraldo Cotto and Carmen Sanchez. She was a member of Iglesias de Dios, Inc. B.O. Palmas Bajas in Puerto Rico, and Iglesias de Dios Primitiva Jehova Jireh in Sterling. She dedicated her life to missionary work and also served as a chaplain. Olga was a very talented seamstress, musician, singer, songwriter, and artist who put her heart into everything that she did. She also enjoyed gardening and loved collecting orchids. Olga was a very strong woman who led by example and was an extremely hard worker. She loved her family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Survivors include her parents, Esmeraldo Cotto and Carmen Sanchez of Rock Falls; one daughter, Alexandra Rodriguez-Cotto of Puerto Rico; one son, Alexis (Marquita McBride) Rodriguez-Cotto of Chicago; three sisters, Wanda (Maximo) Ramirez of Sterling, Carmen (David) Lopez of California, and Jenny (Tito Gotay) Cotto of Ohio; two brothers, Jose (Rosemary) Cotto of Texas, and Manuel (Damaris) Cotto of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren, Jolexy D. Rodriguez and Milexy A. Martinez of Puerto Rico.

Olga was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Julia Cartagena.

Visitation will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave, Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 12:00pm with Pastor Maximo Ramirez and Wanda Ramirez officiating. Cremation rites will follow.
