After 65 years, Nikki Ann Galvan was taken home gently wrapped in the arms of God on Thursday March 28, 2019.

Nikki was a creative soul who loved crafting, shopping for antiques, and discovering unique items at flea markets.

Additionally, Nikki was a passionate, loving soul who shared a bountiful life with her best friend and husband, Rudy. Nikki was a proud mother who encouraged and supported her children: Dina Galvan, Rudy "Bubba" Galvan III (deceased), Claire (Gabriel) Zalasar, Paula Huggins, Anne (John Paul) Ibarra, and Stephanie Almendarez. She enjoyed attending sporting evenings to cheer on her grandchildren, of which she had 21 in total.

Nikki was compassionate, loved diversity, and found beauty in the things that make people different. She enjoyed working with individuals with developmentally disabilities and special needs. She worked as a Nurse and Developmental Trainer at Self Help Enterprises, and later as a Case Manager for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitative Services.

Nikki was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother, one of her sisters, and her son-in-law.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling followed by a celebration of her life with a service at 3:00 PM. A luncheon for family and friends immediately following in the banquet room at the Candlelight Inn in Rock Falls.
