TAMPICO – Nicholas J. Smith, 29 passed away Saturday February 11, 2017 with his mother at his side.

He was born on October 5, 1987 in Sterling the son of Larry Joe and Nancy Jane (Buckley) Smith. He and his brother owned "Two Brothers Handyman Services" and he did in carpentry and construction at the time of his accident. He was an avid fishermen and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his father, Larry J. (Melody) Smith of Tampico; his mother Nancy J. Buckley (Daniel Wetzell) of Tampico; his brothers: Joseph Smith (Amanda) of Rock Falls, Daniel Smith (Riley) of Tampico and Scott Holloway (Nikki) of Rock Falls; his maternal grandparents: John Buckley of Tampico and Sarah Thorman of Tampico; 8 nieces and nephews: James Smith, Adam Smith, Audra Smith, Kailey Smith, Austin Smith, Skylar Holloway, Raleigh Holloway, Weston Holloway; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his pat
ernal grandparents, Adam and Gladys Smith; and his step grandmother Helen Buckley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 16, 2017 from 10 – 12 noon at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. The funeral will follow at 12 noon with Butch Mc Ninch officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
