Nancy Ellen Hahn, 65 of Sterling, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born on December 13, 1951 in Dixon, the daughter of Loyd and Hazel Black. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1970. She worked at the Dixon State School and several different nursing homes.

She met the love of her life, Gary Lee Hahn and they were married on May 23, 1975. They enjoyed 42 wonderful years together and resided in the same house all their married life.

She was the loving and proud mother of Jason L. Hahn of Sterling and grandmother of Nolan L. Hahn. How she adored her Nolan and talked about him to everyone. She especially loved having him come and spend time and loved to attend his baseball games. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She always had a smile on her face, never complained, and loved her family. She also loved country music. She and Gary went to many country music concerts where she would love to get an autograph if she could.

She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Hahn, her son, Jason L. Hahn of Sterling and grandson, Nolan L. Hahn of Polo. She is also survived by two brothers, Loyd Gene Black (Darlene) of Eagle River, WI and Larry B. Black (Rita) of Pisgah Forest, NC. She has one sister, Betty L. Halgren (Merle) of Sterling. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. Funeral service will follow on Monday at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Tonya Tyler officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

Memorials may be given to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, New York, 10006 in memory of Nancy Ellen Hahn.
