MILLEDGEVILLE – Mitchell L. Woodard, age 63, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
Mitch was born on August 20, 1958 in Tampa, Fla. the son of Harold and Marsha (Hill) Woodard. He married Sharon Milnes on May 5, 1984 in Milledgeville. Mitch was a licensed Plumber, and worked for Brown Construction in Milledgeville for 24 years and retired from Laborers Union Local 727 in Dixon. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, especially running fishing nets with his brother. He also loved to pull quarters from his granddaughters ear and watch her go put them in her piggy bank. Mitch enjoyed spending time with his family especially on family trips to the beach.
Survivors include, his wife Sharon of Milledgeville; two daughters, Alayna (Kyle) Beckham-Chapman of East Moline and Alyvia Woodard of Milledgeville; one brother, Mike (Gayle) Woodard of Lanark; one granddaughter, Evalynn Beckham and a grandson on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ryan Woodard.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milledgeville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the church with Pastor Susan Davenport officiating. Cremation rites will follow. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville.
A memorial has been established.
