Merl Leslie Ludwig, age 66 of Chadwick, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, April 7, 2016.

Merl was born on August 29, 1949 in Dixon the son of Melvin and Barbara (Grover) Ludwig. He married Roslyn Dyer on April 28, 1984 in Chadwick. Merl worked as a Driller and Blaster for Kasbohm Custom Drilling until he retired in 2013. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the War in Vietnam. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening- especially his roses, cutting wood with his son in law, and hunting.

He was survived by his wife, Roslyn; one brother, Nels Ludwig; one son, Anthony (Brittany) Ludwig; one daughter, Alicia (Ludwig) Moore; four step daughters, Lisa (Mathew) Montgomery, Jody (Mark) Sack, Nicole (Karl) Popkin and Christina (Larry) Bates; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

No services will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded with the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Milledgeville.
