Meredith A. Renkes, 86, of Morrison, IL, passed away June 16, 2016, at CGH Medical Center.

Meredith was born January 13, 1930, in Morrison; the daughter of Ralph and Sara (Rogers) Domdey. She married Warren R. Renkes on November 7, 1947, in Morrison, IL. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1998. Meredith was a 1947 graduate of Morrison High School. She was employed at General Electric, and later, owned and operated with her husband Renkes Paint Store, Morrison, IL, before retiring. Meredith was an active member of the Morrison United Methodist Church for many years, organizing and cooking many meals for various church functions. She also attended the Lyndon United Methodist church with family and contributed in many ways to the church. Meredith enjoyed cooking, decorating, and embroidery, and shared her many creations with others. Her faith and family were important to her. She especially enjoyed picking out gifts that would be meaningful to each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Dick) Tracy of Dubuque, IA; a son, Rolland (Janet) Renkes of Morrison, IL; 1 daughter-in-law, Sally Renkes of Prophetstown, IL; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hall of Mesa, AZ, and Audrey Temple of Morrison, IL; a brother, Donald (Barbara) Domdey, Morrison, IL; 1 sister-in-law, Lois Domdey of Harden, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by 2 sons, Raymond Renkes and Richard Renkes; a grandson, Bryan Renkes, in infancy, and a brother, Kenneth Domdey.
Following Meredith's wishes, a graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL, with Reverend Andy Ploenzke officiating. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church.
