Maxine M. Spencer, 94 of Rock Falls, died on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Citadel of Sterling.

Maxine was born on July 12, 1927 in Sterling, the daughter of Onno and Ella (Dirks) Conklen. She married Lowell Spencer on May 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1996. Maxine enjoyed sewing and was a seamstress for Harlan's Department Store in Sterling. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.

Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Weaver of Rock Falls; her son, Gary (Donna) Spencer of Rock Falls; daughter-in-law, Judy Spencer of Rock Falls; four grandchildren, Tom Spencer, Martha Mauch, Dustin Weaver, and Dylan Weaver; and seven great grandchildren, McKenzie Weaver, Spencer Mauch, Sam Mauch, Ireland Weaver, Collins Weaver, Nora Weaver and Naomi Weaver.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Gordon Spencer; two grandchildren, Linda and Tracy Spencer; and two brothers, Don Conklen and Lloyd Conklen.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Reverend Bree Truax officiating. Burial will conclude at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the church.
