Mary O. Ratzlaff, 85, of Morrison, IL, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Franklin, TN surrounded by her daughters.

Mary was born February 25, 1934 in Rock Falls, IL, the daughter of Chirila John and Eva (Pavel) Ordean. She married Harold Ratzlaff on July 6, 1952 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1985. Mary dearly loved time spent with her family and friends, and loved her caregivers and the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Franklin. She liked to help others, bake, sew, play pinochle, and she created a collection of porcelain dolls. Mary traveled internationally, and each of the five grandsons took separate trips to Disney World with her. Mary was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL where she was a member for 53 years. She served on the Altar Guild, participated in Bible study and Sunday School, and helped with church dinners and VBS. Mary supported missions and was a member of LWML. A servant of God would define how Mary lived her life.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynnette Cox (Steve Monk) of Waunakee, WI; and Cheryl (Chris) Chamberlain of Franklin, TN; one brother, John Ordean, Sr. of Como; five grandsons, Andrew (Maureen) Chamberlain of Mahomet, IL; Michael (Lauren) Chamberlain of Murfreesboro, TN; Dr. Nicholas Chamberlain of Hamilton, MT; Aaron Tyska of Machesney Park, IL; and Phillip Tyska of Wuhan, China. She had a special fondness of children and babies and loved her three great grandchildren, Ender and Asher Chamberlain, Mahomet, IL; and infant Ava Marie Chamberlain, Murfreesboro, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Ann Tyska; and two sisters, Eva Ufkin and Anna Young.

Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL and on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the church with Reverend Mike Winkelman and Reverend Tony Appel co-officiating. Christian burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.

Memorials have been established to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL and Lutheran Bible Translators - Designate "David Federwitz Ministry".
