Mary Frances Diaz, 93, of Rock Falls, died on Tuesday evening, October 24, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on January 11, 1924 in Galesburg to John and Juanita (Delacruz) Magon.

Mary was a homemaker and later worked for Tyco, Northwestern Steel and Wire Company, and worked for Lawrence Brothers as an assembler and retired after 13 years.

She enjoyed ceramics, flowers, porcelain dolls, bird watching, teddy bears, shopping and spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Eric Vargas of Sterling, Marissa (Howard) Springer-Diaz of Jacksonville; Robert (Maria) Diaz of Grand Detour, Leslie (Tim) Brumbly of Rock Falls, Kevin (Derek) Diaz of Kenosha, Wisc., and Christopher Diaz of Rock Falls; her grandchildren, Amber, Stacy, David, Tanya, Alicia, Perry, Nadia, Rhianna and Evan; her great grandchildren, Charlotte, Blake, Zavion, Abel, Charleze, Sophia, Jazlynn, Chelsea, Chloe, Veronica, Courtney, Amanda and Nicholas; and a great-great grandchild, Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Veronica, a son-in-law Steve Fulkerson, 3 children in infancy, a grandson Steve Fulkerson, Jr., a great grandson, Mason, 2 brothers, John and Arthur and 4 sisters, Juanita, Rebecca, Jesse and Rachel.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, October 29th from 1-3 PM at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A memorial service will be at 10 AM Monday, October 30th at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Russo, pastor of St. Andrew Catholic Church , officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in memory of her daughter Veronica White to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
