Mary Ann (Cowley) Dettman, 95 of Sterling died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at CGH Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls with the Reverend Bree Truax, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation is Saturday at the church from 10:00 – 11:30 immediately preceding funeral.

Mary Ann (Cowley) Dettman was born on February 20, 1926 in Whiteside Co the daughter of Robert and Mary Cowley. She married Elmer Eugene Dettman Sept 28, 1947 in Rock Falls. Elmer preceded Mary Ann in death on 3/31/03. Mary Ann was a homemaker and enjoyed several years in the cafeteria at Rock Falls High School later in life. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed time with her family.

Mary Ann is survived by daughters Karen (Wayne) Schryver of Milledgeville and Vicki Stokes of Belmont, NC; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; her sisters Peggy (Fred) Drew, Dixon, Jane Koeppen and Vella Simpson, both of Rock Falls; brothers, Lee Cowley of Alabama and Jim Cowley of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Donna (Chuck) Matznick, Carol Jacobs and brothers, Robert Cowley, William Cowley, Johnny Cowley, infant Frederick Cowley .

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church and Morningside of Sterling.
