Marvin E. Wallace, 94 died Sunday April 22, 2018.

He was born on April 23, 1923 in Rock Falls, the son of Clarence and Bernice (Stroup) Wallace. He attended and graduated from Rock Falls Schools and High School. He married Carmen Bohms on November 23, 1943 in Rock Falls. She died October 31, 2000. Marvin was a member of Immanuel Ev Lutheran Church in Rock Falls since 1946. He was custodian of the church for 44 years. He also was employed at the former Geyer โ€“ Wood MFG in Rock Falls for 23 years and the former R.B. & W. Co in Rock Falls for 23 years. He served in the US Army during WW II from April 3, 1943 โ€“ December 19, 1945.

Survivors include his son, Dale (Linda) Wallace of Dixon; his son-in-law Larry Gholson of Rock Falls; his sister Marian Rausch of Mendota; four grandchildren: Sheryl Wasylik, Larry Gholson Jr, Dale Wallace Jr and Brandon (Lindsay) Wallace; six great grandchildren: Kamry Wallace, Jerome Warren, Sydney Wallace, Amanda Welch, Tom Wasylik and DeAnna Wasylik; and 6 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter Sherry Gholson; 3 sisters: Lorraine Wallace, Rosetta VonHolten and Donna Latimer; 1 brother: Raymond Wallace; 1 great grandchild Jayden Wallace.

Visitation will be Friday April 27, 2018 from 9:30 โ€“ 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 10:30 AM with the Reverend Brea Truax officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Coloma Twp Cemetery.
