Marjorie Mable Bryant Bowman, age 86 of Sterling, died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Marjorie was born on July 3, 1931 in Spring Valley, IL, the daughter of George M. and Anna W. (Lawrence) Bryant. She married Kenneth C. Bowman on December 17, 1955 in DePue, IL. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2004. Marge graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois. She was an elementary school and preschool teacher for many years. Marge had a passion for genealogy. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sterling.

She is survived by her four children, Susan Bowman of Pahoa, HI, David Bowman of DePue, IL, Andrew Bowman of Batavia, IL and William (Mary) Bowman of Libertyville, IL; two grandchildren, Anna and Finn Bowman of Libertyville, IL; one brother, George Bryant of DePue, IL; one sister, Evalynn (Daniel) Blanco of DePue, IL and one sister-in-law, Ruth Bryant of DePue, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, James Bryant and one sister, Elizabeth Harrison.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Sterling. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the church with Reverend Tanya Tyler officiating.
