Marjorie Ann (Vock) Martin, of Savanna and formerly of Sterling passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020.

Marjorie was born on July 26, 1925 on Carl and Margaret (Lauber) Vock. She grew up in the Coleta and Sterling area. Marge married Robert Llewellyn "Chub" Martin on September 1, 1947 in Sterling. He died August 12, 1992. She had worked at the Schuneman Insurance Agency in Sterling for many years.
Marge enjoyed spending time outside working in her yard and garden, boating on the Mississippi River, quilting, singing in the church choir and working at the Savanna Thrift Shop and Savanna Food Pantry.

For many years Marge was a very active volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. After retiring, she started traveling and visiting many different parts of the United States. Marge loved to attend birthday parties, graduations and weddings of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was considered the guest of honor at these celebrations.

Marge's thumbprint cookies with the pink icing were especially cherished by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They thought she was the most awesome grandma. And her daughters thought she was the most awesome mother and friend.

Survivors include her four daughters: Bobbie Ann (Dennis) Radocha of Boise, ID, Juanita Martin of Tucson, AZ, Miriam (Ken) McIntyre of Tomah, WI and Clara Sanders of Rock Falls; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother Robert (Phyllis) Vock, two sisters: Alice Reed and Esther Mullen and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; her mother and father in law; her son in law, Paul Sanders; her sister; two brothers; her sister in law and her three brothers in law.

Masks and social distancing requirements will be required to allow for 10 persons at a time to rotate through a public visitation on Thursday December 17, 2020 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. Followed by the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Reverend Moises Apostol officiating. Burial will conclude at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sterling.
