Marilyn Parks, age 77 of Milledgeville died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at her home.

Marilyn was born July 21, 1936 in Sterling the daughter of Harry and Esther (Hartman) Bushman. She graduated from the Rockford School of Nursing in 1957 and the same year married her husband John Parks on September 28. Marilyn worked at Sinnissippi Centers as an RN for 20 years, after she retired she worked for 10 years at Rolling Hills Progress Center in Lanark. First and foremost Marilyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church, and enjoyed being a parish nurse, Sunday school teacher, and a deaconess. Marilyn also enjoyed her horses.

Survivors include her husband John of Milledgeville, two sons Jeff (Heather) Parks of Harvard, IL, Jim (Shelly) Parks of Milledgeville, two daughters Laurie (Ken) Kroymann of Solon, IA, and Lisa (Dan) Cannon of Mt. Vernon, IA, one sister Sally (Karrol) Phillips of Milledgeville, and eight grandchildren Vesta, Evan, Justin, Jolee, Kyle, Morgan, Megan, and Josh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother David Bushman.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, November 1, 2013 at Milledgeville Brethren Church. Funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the church with Reverend Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Milledgeville Brethren Church or Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
