ALBANY – Marie Boggs, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 24, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Marie was born on February 2, 1939 in Newton Township, Illinois,
the daughter of William Joseph and Gladys Marie (Kennedy) Sullivan. She married Fred Boggs on May 3, 1962 in Rapid City, Illinois. In her younger years, Marie loved working with horses and taught her daughters so much about the raising and training of horses. After many years of factory work, Marie and Fred were able to enjoy traveling on their motorcycle to many cities. Marie was a very special, one of a kind Grandma to all of her grandchildren and she especially loved spending time them.
Survivors include her husband Fred Boggs of Albany, Illinois; two daughters, Regina (Mike) Meier and Becky (Clifford) Wilkerson both of Clinton, Iowa; two brothers, Thomas Sullivan and James Sullivan both of Erie; six grandchildren, Erica (Raul) Martinez, Kate Meier-Sink, Colin (Courtney) Meier, Cody Wilkerson, Billy Boggs-Chavez and Brenden Boggs-Chavez and seven great grandchildren, Adrianna, Hunter, Julian, Colton, Araceli, Beckett and Brynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Billie Chavez.
Private services will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton.
