Marianne Wright, 79 of Rock Falls, lost her battle with Alzheimer's and passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Avonlea Cottage Memory Care in Dixon, IL.

Marianne was born on November 3, 1937 in Nowawes, Germany, the daughter of Herman Wilhelm and Anna Stolle.

She came over from Germany in October of 1974 with Maureen Wall Frankfother and Virginia Wall Pinkston after having met Arthur Wright at the Chicago Train Station. They were married on December 23, 1974 and Marianne became a 2nd mom to Timothy. Together they had a son, Marc-Oliver Wright. Marianne was a homemaker but was also very busy with their large property, planting trees and bushes, growing flowers and tending an always large garden. After Arthur retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire, she helped him with his retirement project, growing and selling asparagus. She had many regular customers.

Marianne always looked forward to her weekly Wednesday luncheon with her German friends. She enjoyed taking many photos of her beautiful flowers, birds and the wildlife animals that would show up looking for a handout or morsels of food.

Marianne is survived by her husband, two daughters, Maureen (Kevin) Frankfother, Virginia (Tim) Pinkston; two sons, Timothy (Heather) Wright and Marc-Oliver (Linda) Wright; nine grandchildren, to whom she loved being Oma to: Nicholas, Tegan and Jacob Frankfother of Rock Falls, Brianne Pinkston of Sullivan, IN, Kolton, Jaxen and Phinley Wright of Sterling and William and John Wright of Monona, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Annemarie and her brother, Gunther.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
