STERLING – Margery Ruth Perino, 95, of Sterling, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Regency Care. Margie was born on August 26, 1924 in Scarboro, IL, the daughter of Robert and Alice (O'Donnell) Herrmann. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tampico, and served in the St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society. Margie also participated in the Deer Grove Town and Country Ladies Club, volunteered as a CGH Auxillary Volunteer "Pink Lady," and as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer. She was an avid baker, an animal lover, and an absolutely wonderful grandmother.
Margery is survived by five daughters, Helen Colletti of Chicago, Mary Miller of Tucson, AZ, Patricia (Michael) Reisinger of LaGrange, Loretta Spromberg, and Roseanne Perino both of Sterling; 8 beloved grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her former husband of 35 years, Edward Perino; infant son Paul Perino; three sons-in-law, Jerome Colletti, Clark Miller, and Frank Spromberg; and three sisters.
Visitation will be at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico with Rev. Richard Russo officiating. Celebration of mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with the Sterling Lions Club, Happy Tails, Spina Bifida Association, or a Hospice chapter of your choice.
