Marc Leo Wilson Sr., 81, of Belleville, WI, formerly of Sterling, IL, passed away peacfully on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville.

Marc was born on October 12, 1940, in Sterling, the son of Leo V. and Iona Mae (Howard) Wilson, Sr. He served in the United States Navy, returning to Sterling and marrying shortly thereafter, having 4 children. Marc remarried to Marilyn Jean VonBank, on June 28, 1975, and was blessed by adding her two children to his family. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2014. Shortly after Marilyns' passing, he lived his remaining years in Belleville, where his son was able to care for him. He worked and retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire, for 37 years. Marc was a past member of Rock River Christian Center in Rock Falls. He was very active in his church by serving our lord, the congregation, and sharing his musical talent with singing. Additionally, Marc enjoyed fishing, traveling, cars and motorsports, but more so spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include six children, Marc (Kathy) Wilson, Jr., of Bentonville, AR, Tabatha (Eric) Brooks of Tampa, FL, Elizabeth (Nicholas) Abid of Sarasota, FL, Jodi Wilson of Loves Park, IL, Michael Wilson (Shawn Garza) of Fitchburg, WI, and John Willey (Rick Aronstein) of Hartford, CT; six sisters, Jeanette Pierce of AL, Trudy (Randy) Gallentine of Rock Falls, Linda (Daniel) Ryan of Como, Kathy Jellerichs of Rock Falls, Kim (Matt) Smith of Rock Falls, and Glenda (Mike) Gibson of Como; one brother, Jody (Cena) Wilson of Sumner, WA; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; brothers, Leo Wilson Jr., James Wilson, and Donald Wilson; sisters, Naomie Capone and Marilyn Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. Following the burial there will be a private luncheon held for immediate and extended family at the First Christian Church in Sterling.
