Louis M. "Joe" Valente, 67 of Rock Falls died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.

Joe was born on June 2, 1950 in Sterling, the son of Michael J. and Joan C. (Posada) Valente. He worked at Lawrence Brothers for 5 years until October of 1975. He was an avid billiards player. Joe became the kind of player that he had always respected.

It was his love of family that was the most important part of his life. There was nothing that he would not do for them. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Survivors include his mother, Joan of Rock Falls and three sisters, Rosemary (Michael) Murphy of Sherman Oaks, CA, Elizabeth Valente of Basalt, CO and Lee (Tom Lendman) Valente of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father in 1992 and one sister, Rita Valente.

A celebration of his life will take place in September.

Joe and his family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all close friends, pool team members and family who have offered their support and love throughout this difficult time. You made a huge difference in our lives and we truly appreciate you.
