STERLING - Lester J. Dombroski, 90 of Sterling died Monday June 11, 2012 at CGH Medical Center.
He was born on January 16, 1922 in Sterling, the son of John Henry and Matilda Katherine (Berge) Dombroski and was a veteran of WW II having served in the pacific theater in the US Army in the Phillipines. He married Mary Alice Butterfield on December 2, 1950 in Chicago. Lester retired with International Harvester after more than 33 years of service. Lester was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Sterling; the Sterling American Legion Post 296. He enjoyed woodworking, watching baseball and reading about WW II history.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Alice; two daughters, Rita (Karl) Felker of Sterling and Mary (Ron) Deichman of Spring Creek, NV; one son, Dennis Dombroski of Reno, NV; two sisters: Adeline Sheehan of Polo and Dorothy (Jack) Bond of Stillman Valley; 1 grandson Benjamin; and 3 step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Dombroski.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 - 11 AM at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Sterling. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM at the church with the Reverend Mark Oehlert officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
