ROCK FALLS – Leroy J. Holloway, 78 of Rock Falls died Monday February 27, 2017 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born September 17, 1938 in Coloma Township, the son of Troy James and Eva Mae (Tighe) Holloway and he had served in the US Airforce. Leroy married Nina L. Royer on November 30, 1963 in Rock Falls. He was employed for 41 years at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. retiring as a foreman in January 1999. He then served as custodian at Harvest Time Bible Church for 17 years. Leroy was an active member of Harvest Time Bible Church having served as a past Deacon and had also gone on several missions trips with his son Jim to Honduras and Mexico. Leroy enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially on the front porch in nice weather.

Survivors include his wife, Nina; daughter Kristi (Andy) Bass of Rock Falls; son, Jim (Regina) Holloway of Sterling; daughter-in-law Kristine Holloway; his sister Shirley Eades of Rock Falls; 9 grandchildren: Justin (Cena) Holloway, Matthew Holloway, Jayden Bass and Jonah Bass all of Rock Falls; Michael (Carly) Holloway of Tampico; Bowen Holloway, Brock Holloway, Breanna Holloway, Becca Holloway all of Sterling; 2 great grandchildren: Easton Holloway and Eliam Veracini.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest son, Mike Holloway; one sister Carol Rose; three brothers: Charles, Elmer and Roger Holloway.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 2, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow on Friday at 10 AM in the church with Pastor Jason Borton and the Reverend Dalmus Meeks co-officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
